A fun and purpose built room for all the ‘Tiger Group’
Tiger Room
Play gives children a chance to practice what they are learning; where the Tiger group have an equal balance of free play but also challenging activities.
The Tiger group is for children from 3 years until they leave for school and is situated in the main room of the nursery; focussing on a more structured routine from the other groups to support educational learning and development. The approach of encouraging independence builds on experiences from the children and a shared success in their achievement. The Tiger group key workers share the ability to challenge and support during the process of transitioning to school; this is known as ‘school readiness.’
Classroom Facilities
Children develop at different stages and it is important that the key person challenges or supports this development appropriately. The Tiger children are preparing for a transition in their life of starting school and during group times the focus will be on being independent and always being willing to try.
Education is provided to the highest standard to help support and challenge your child through their learning and development. The areas of learning are followed through games and play with a balanced amount of adult and child initiated activities. The children’s progress is reviewed through observations and tracking development; however this is not a test as all children learn at different stages.
Activities form the main part of the nursery day ranging from running around and ball games to support Physical development; to stories and songs supporting Communication and Language development. The children are supported through a range of exciting activities internally and we also have sports session and music and movement session. The children enjoy to get involved with the local community including visits to our local parks and the local library.
Forming friendships and special attachments is a vital part of learning and development where our children are able to learn skills to socialise and communicate effectively. Our nursery is small and helps support easy transitions where friendships and attachments are built with the children, families and staff. Children show a growth in confidence when they are able to feel safe and secure in the environment showing a close connection with their health and well-being.
